At Walnut Hills Family Campground by GatherGrounds, your family-friendly Southeast Michigan campground, we believe that spending quality time with family and friends is the marshmallow that binds the s’more. This is why our management company GatherGrounds Resorts has made sure to add a full line up of events planned for you over the 2025 camping season, and all just a short drive away from Detroit.

Cheff’s Canoe Rental

April through October

On top of all our scheduled events, Walnut Hills Family Campground by GatherGrounds partners with an on site canoe livery service “Cheff’s Canoe Rental” where you can rent a canoe or kayak to float the Shiawassee River. There are two float options available – one shorter duration, and one longer duration for the dedicated canoeist. Cheff’s service includes pick up or drop off along with the canoe rental.
