Woodside describes itself as sitting on the edge of Streetsboro and Mantua, and most people search for it as “Woodside Lake Park, Streetsboro.” Directory listings use a Frost Road, Streetsboro address, while the park’s own website gives a Mantua mailing address, so enter the address from Woodside’s website when you set your GPS. Either way, it’s in northern Portage County, close to the shopping and restaurants in Streetsboro and Aurora and a reasonable drive from Cuyahoga Valley National Park, which Woodside lists as a nearby attraction.
What Woodside Lake Park offers
The lake and beach
The heart of the park is its private lake. The Streetsboro Visitors & Convention Bureau describes it as a four-acre lake. Woodside’s activity list includes swimming, fishing, inflatables in the lake, paddle boats, paddle boards, kayaks and water trikes. Directory listings note catch-and-release fishing. The park posts lake hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily in season, and in 2026 the lake opened in late May. Water toys and some activities carry an extra charge, so ask what’s included when you book.
Campsites and cabins
Woodside’s website lists about 250 sites. Most of them are seasonal full-service sites. The rest include full-hookup RV sites with 30- or 50-amp service, water-and-electric sites, primitive tent sites and a handful of monthly sites. There are back-in and pull-through options, and both shaded and sunny spots. Woodside also rents rustic cabins that sleep two to eight people. You bring your own bedding, towels and cooking gear.
Camping runs May 1 through October 31. Woodside also offers monthly full-service sites over the winter.
Activities and events
Woodside advertises planned activities every weekend. Its 2026 calendar included holiday weekends, a Halloween weekend, a costume contest, a cardboard boat race, a chili cook-off, an ice cream social, golf cart parades, beach parties and DJ nights. On-site amenities include a game room with pool tables and video games, basketball, sand volleyball, horseshoes, a playground, hay rides, a picnic area, and biking and hiking. There’s also a camp store, propane, a dump station and Wi-Fi throughout the park.
Pets
Pets are welcome at Woodside, but not in the rental cabins or the beach area. The park’s site and booking listings also restrict pets on tent sites, so check the rules for the specific site before you reserve.
Woodside Lake Park prices, photos and reviews
Rates vary by site type, season and length of stay. As at most campgrounds, primitive tent sites cost the least and cabins and full-hookup sites cost the most. Woodside is a good fit if you want a cabin, rental boats on site or a winter monthly site. Ridge Ranch suits families who want a bigger lake and more room to swim and paddle. A few specifics:
- The lake. Most of Ridge Ranch’s 17-acre lake is calm and 2 to 6 feet deep, good for kayaks and tubes. The swim area was dredged to 8 to 10 feet and is fed by springs, so it stays cool on hot days.
- The Wibit and beach. The inflatable water park is anchored in the swim area and open Thursday through Sunday in summer. The new beach went in for 2026: more than 1,000 tons of sand, laid out into the water so kids step onto sand, not mud.
- Things to do for kids. There’s a Kangaroo Jumper bounce pillow, a new playground by the lake, an arcade in the camp store, and basketball and volleyball courts.
- Weekends. Themed weekends, food trucks and events at the Amish-built lakeside pavilion. Halloween weekends run at the end of September and usually fill by late August.
- Getting in. The front gate reads license plates, so you’re checked in before you arrive and drive straight to your site.
