Campsites at The Oaks

Campsites at The Oaks: Lakefront, Wooded, Big-Lot and Tent Sites

The Oaks Campground sits on 155 acres in Munith, Michigan, with about 120 acres of trails, a spring-fed swim lake and a fishing lake. Sites are a mix of open and wooded, and they’re the biggest of our three parks: the smallest are about 35 by 65 feet and the largest up to 55 by 120 feet. (A typical campground site is about 33 by 60.) This guide compares each type of site so you can choose the one that fits your family.

Our lakefront sites are a short walk to the new sand beach, with a front-row view of the Aquaglide floating water park. On summer weekends you may spot neighbors holding up scorecards for the best belly flops. Like all short-term RV sites at The Oaks, they have water, 50-amp electric and a gray-water drain. Waterfront sites are in high demand, so they’re priced higher; for water access on a budget, book a site a little farther back.

The Oaks has more tent sites with electric than any of our parks, and arguably the nicest tent camping of the three.

  • T1–T6 have 20-amp electric and sit near the recreation barn and horseshoe pit.
  • T7–T12 have 20-amp electric and plenty of old-growth trees (they’re pictured on the rates page).
  • Sites 178 and 179 have electric and water, close to the trailhead and a bathroom building with laundry.

Our top pick is T1–T12: beautiful trees, close to the store, the pavilion, the newest playground, the ball field, sand volleyball, basketball and the Kangaroo Jumper. Every tent site has a fire ring and picnic table, and tent campers can use every amenity in the park. Read more in our guide to tent camping at The Oaks.

Power, water and the honey wagon

Every RV site at The Oaks has water, electric and a gray-water drain; short-term sites have 50 amp, and seasonal sites are 30 amp. Short-term sites have 50 amp, but there are no full sewer hookups and no pull-throughs today. Here’s how it works: your shower and sink water (about 95% of an RV’s wastewater) drains away, so only the black tank fills. When it’s time, our honey-wagon service comes to your site and pumps it out. Seasonal campers typically need about six pump-outs a season, and starting in 2027 a pump-out is $19. Many campers like gray-water sites for exactly that reason: they’re comfortable and cost less than full hookup. There’s also a dump station.

If you need 50-amp full hookups now, our sister park Walnut Hills has 80 of them.
